The M119A3 howitzer is a is a lightweight, direct and indirect fire support asset used by infantry brigade combat teams. It is a modernized version of the L119 howitzer with a digital fire control system, and an inertial navigation system for self location. The M119A3 is capable of firing all standard NATO semi-fixed ammunition as well as special rocket-assisted 105mm projectiles.
