836th Transportation Battalion Change of Command Ceremony:

Narration:
The U.S. Army 836th Transportation Battalion held a change of command ceremony between outgoing Commander LTC Clydea Prichard-Brown and incoming Commander LTC Gary Whittacre June 29 at Yokohama North Dock.
A number of people from on and off the installation attended the ceremony, including COL Toshikazu Okada, Commander of Japan Ground Self Defense Force’s Central Transportation Command as well as representatives from local communities.


Remarks: COL Frazariel Castro, Commander, U.S. Army 599th Transportation Brigade

Prichard-Brown will be promoted to the rank of Colonel and attend the U.S. Army War College to further her education in strategic studies.

During the ceremony, COL Castro passed the 836th Transportation flag to Gary Whittacre, signifying his acceptance of command.

Whittacre began his military career at the 6th Transportation Battalion at Fort Eustis, Virginia as Vessel Platoon Leader. Since then, he has been assigned to numerous leadership positions in various locations, including Naval Support Activity Bahrain.
