Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher L. Mullinax took over the position as the Command Sergeant Major for U.S. Army Europe and Africa in August 2025.
His previous positions include the Sergeant Major for Operations, Plans and Training at the Pentagon and the Command Sergeant Major for the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas.
Command Sgt. Maj. Mullinax enlisted into the Army on June 24, 1998, as an Infantryman. He attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
He served as a Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Command Sergeant Major, and Operations Sergeant Major.
Other duty assignments include 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ranger Battalions, the 75th Ranger Regiment and Ranger Special Troops Battalion; 1-503rd, 173rd Airborne Brigade; 2-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team and 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade Sergeant Major.
He has combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and tours across Europe and Africa.
Command Sgt. Maj. Mullinax is a graduate of all levels of the NCO Education System, U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Combat Advisor Training Course, Airborne, Jumpmaster and Ranger Courses.
His awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and the Expert and Combat Infantry Badges.
Command Sgt. Maj. Mullinax also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Excelsior College in Albany, New York.
