About Justified Accord

Justified Accord is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), this multi-national exercise brings together more than 20 countries from 3 continents to increase partner readiness for peacekeeping missions, crisis response and humanitarian assistance.​ 

Southern European Task Force - Africa leads this joint, all-domain exercise in East Africa to enable future operations, maintain strategic access, and build partner capacity to disrupt malign influence, aggression, and activity.

U.S. Army 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade Soldiers conduct a knowledge exchange with the Djiboutian Bataillon d'Intervention Rapide (BIR) as part of exercise Justified Accord 2024 (JA24) in Ali Oune, Djibouti, Feb. 27, 2024. During the training, Soldiers demonstrated how to set up an entry control point and search visitors for weapons and contraband. JA24 is U.S. Africa Command's largest exercise in East Africa, running from February 26 - March 7. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Kenya, this year's exercise will incorporate personnel and units from 23 nations. This multinational exercise builds readiness for the U.S. joint force, prepares regional partners for UN and AU mandated missions, and increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance, disaster response and crisis response.
