#OTD 30 years ago, 14 souls took off in an AC-130H Spectre gunship to help their U.S. Marine Corps brethren down below during #DesertStorm, not knowing what their fate may be.

"Spirit 03" was a part of the 16th Special Operations Squadron @hurlburtfield, and on Jan. 31, 1991, the aircraft and its crew of fourteen were shot down during the Battle of Khafji while supporting Marines under fire.

While this event was the largest single loss of life by an United States Air Force unit during Operation #DesertStorm, it's important that we share their stories, honor their loved ones, and celebrate the lives they lived. #untilallofuspasses #TilVahalla #DesertStorm30
