Griffin Shock is an exercise designed to prepare V Corps and NATO Multinational Corps Northeast with the rapid expansion of NATO Multinational Battlegroup Poland in support of NATO deterrence initiatives such as bolstering readiness, responsiveness, and reinforcement. 

 

Griffin Shock is a combined NATO and U.S. Army short notice exercise that will demonstrate the U.S. Army’s ability to enhance the NATO alliance by rapidly reinforcing the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battlegroup in Poland to a brigade size Land Forces Brigade.

SCANG Hosts NORAD-Sponsored Super Bowl LIII Air Defense Media Day

The South Carolina Air National Guard at McEntire Joint National Guard Base is hosting a North American Aerospace Defense Command-sponsored air defense media day, Jan. 29, 2019, to showcase how NORAD coordinates with federal, state and local agencies to support various special security events such as this year’s Super Bowl in its ongoing commitment to safeguard North America’s skies. During this all-day event, various national and local news personalities will experience an inflight simulation of a NORAD-coordinated exercise with the Federal Aviation Administration and S.C. Wing – Civil Air Patrol over military training airspaces in South Carolina and Georgia. The flight will also include an air-to-air refueling mission with a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 134th Air Refueling Wing, Tennessee Air National Guard.
