About Arctic Shock

Arctic Shock is a combined U.S. and Norwegian exercise supporting the National Arctic Strategy that enhances multi-combatant command relationships, airborne interoperability, and Arctic capabilities. 

The exercise takes place from March 18 to 22, 2024, in Bardufoss, Norway, with around 150 U.S. Soldiers from the 11th Airborne Division and around 100 soldiers from the Norwegian Armed Forces participating. 

The exercise consists of an over-the-pole movement from Alaska to Norway, an airborne jump, and a field training exercise focused on cold-weather capabilities demonstrating the U.S. commitment to defend the High North.

One would say that rain and electricity do not mix.

But not this rock band, meet Sergeant Sean Peabody.
Sb:
“today we’re the 2ID band, rock band warrior nation is playing for the Gyeonggido one mind concert, we have a lot from our alliance and we do a lot of combined projects and this is one that their putting out for the soldiers so where out here providing musical entertainment.”
Reporter:
Sergeant Peabody who plays the bass guitar for the 2ID band
Was one of many who performed under the rain at one mind
Concert, at Camp Red Cloud.
Sb:
“It makes me feel great I absolutely love my job and I love that
The universal language is something no matter where I go I can
Bring happiness to people through music.”
Reporter:
Along with all the K-Pop groups that performed that day,
Sergeant Peabody brought happiness to the audience like he has
many times before.



Sb:
“In the Army Band I’ve performed in Afghanistan and Iraq, I’ve
performed all over the united states, pretty much anywhere there
Is an army base, I’ve almost been to”

Through music sergeant Peabody is able to strengthen the
Korean-US alliance.
