Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) Overview with Ashlee Floyd
Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division
May 30, 2024 | 3:12
Ashlee Floyd, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division’s community outreach and student engagement coordinator, discusses the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) and the benefits of it for both students and the Navy. NREIP is a 10-week, paid internship program that places undergraduate and graduate students in Department of the Navy laboratories, where they are engaged in naval research and projects. Carderock fosters a fun, one-of-a-kind work atmosphere where brilliant minds can flourish and push the limits of the possible. Carderock also houses some of the nation's most advanced facilities for research, development, testing and evaluation. These resources, spread across its headquarters and seven detachments, give the Navy a clear edge in creating the next generation of surface ships and submarines. (U.S. Navy video by Kristin Behrle)
