Arctic Forge 25 is a U.S. Army Europe and Africa led biennial exercise that leverages Arctic host nation exercises Local Defense Exercise 25 in Finland and Joint Viking 25 in Norway, February 17-28, 2025, to build Arctic readiness and interoperability in support of the U.S. Army's Arctic Strategy.

Arctic Forge 25 is focused on building the U.S. Army’s Arctic capabilities including deployment to the Arctic, Arctic multi-domain operations, and Arctic sustainment, and includes approximately 330 U.S. and 750 multinational participants from Canada (TBD), Finland and Norway.

A 20mm Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System, operated by the 218th Field Artillery Regiment, attached to Task Force Armadillo, fires a Pre-Action Calibration Firing (PACFIRE) exercise at Al-Tanf Garrison, Syria, on March 24, 2025. The PACFIRE exercise calibrates the entire system to ensure that rounds fired are more accurate and on target during engagements. After firing, the machine also went through clearing and cleaning operations to maintain its operational readiness and ensure safety. Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve will optimize defense capabilities to protect Coalition Forces while supporting partner forces. (U.S. Army video by Staff Sgt. Fred Brown)
