Arctic Forge

 

 

Arctic Forge is a biennial exercise designed to enhance cold-weather operational capabilities and strengthen U.S.-European Arctic partnerships. Conducted in Norway, Finland, and other Arctic regions, it focuses on cold-weather operations, airborne movement, and Arctic defense capabilities. The exercise demonstrates U.S. commitment to defending the High North and bolsters NATO Arctic cooperation.

A U.S. Air Force, 21st Airlift Squadron C-17 is staged at the Rovaniemi Airport, Finland carrying Class 5 cargo and Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicles from Fort Wainwright, Alaska to be offloaded by multinational armed forces to support Arctic Forge 25, Feb. 24, 2025.
