Arctic Forge

 

 

Arctic Forge is a biennial exercise designed to enhance cold-weather operational capabilities and strengthen U.S.-European Arctic partnerships. Conducted in Norway, Finland, and other Arctic regions, it focuses on cold-weather operations, airborne movement, and Arctic defense capabilities. The exercise demonstrates U.S. commitment to defending the High North and bolsters NATO Arctic cooperation.

A U.S. Air Force, 21st Airlift Squadron C-17 is staged at the Rovaniemi Airport, Finland carrying Class 5 cargo and Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicles from Fort Wainwright, Alaska to be offloaded by multinational armed forces to support Arctic Forge 25, Feb. 24, 2025. Integrated operations with NATO Allies and partners are critical to the Alliance’s ability to reinforce an extended network of like-minded nations capable of decisively meeting the defense challenges of today and tomorrow.
