A significant day in California’s COVID-19 era happened April 6, 2020. The California National Guard was involved with prepping and packing 500 ventilators that were transported to five states via the California Air National Guard. Cal Guard and other state organizations rapidly hustled to accomplish this critical task in a matter of hours. At the end-of-day brief, California Emergency Medical Services Authority’s (EMSA) Markell Pierce, manager, Response Resource Unit, united the team for an emotional wrap up, commending all involved in this historic event.
