Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Operation Tomodachi Remembrance
U.S. Army Garrison - Japan
Feb. 24, 2021 | 5:00
After a magnitude 9.0 earthquake and subsequent tsunami struck March 11, 2011, referred to as the Great East Japan earthquake, U.S. Army Japan dispatched its first personnel to the devastated region March 13. The initial team, working with Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members, set up the Joint Forces Command Center and surveyed the region in order for incoming U.S. Army and other U.S. military forces to immediately bear down assisting those in need, searching devastated regions, and clearing debris. On March 16, U.S. forces began delivering food, water and blankets to those in evacuation centers in the still snow-covered area and much more help followed over the ensuing weeks. This video is a look at what friends can do when others need help. (U.S. Army video by Jose I. Sanchez Alonso) (Music licensed to U.S. Army Garrison Japan, Visual Information by Digital Juice.)
