Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

U.S., Netherlands air forces enhance fifth-generation interoperability at NATO flag exercise 1st Lt Hettinger Interview
48th Fighter Wing
April 4, 2025 | 2:15
1st Lt. Joshua Hettinger, 495th FGS sortie generation flight commander, discusses a F-35A Lightning II cross servicing event between the U.S. and Netherlands air forces at NATO Allied Air Command’s Ramstein Flag 2025 exercise April 4, 2025. Successful cross-servicing at RAFL25 is an example of the importance of integrated logistics and maintenance training that enhances U.S. warfighting readiness by strengthening United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa’s ability to deploy, sustain, and project fifth-generation capabilities across the European theater. Enabling collective forces to share resources and infrastructure, to increase collective lethality, reduces operational risk, and ensures mission continuity in contested environments.
