Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Led by NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller, the North Atlantic Council (NAC) visited KFOR on Friday, 27 October 2017. The visit of NATO’s top decision-making body is a sign of NATO’s commitment to peace and stability in Kosovo and throughout the Western Balkans.

NATO Ambassadors, joined by representatives of the non-NATO KFOR contributing nations and the European Union, held meetings with the Commander of KFOR, Major General Giovanni Fungo, the director of the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team Brigadier General Ralf Hoffmann, and with the other international organisations present in Kosovo (the United Nations, the EU and the OSCE).
