Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Soldiers of 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, and 41st Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, join forces to practice operating in extreme conditions during a platoon live fire training exercise, November 14, at Fort Drum, New York. Catamount Soldiers provided support by fire as Mountain Sappers breached a wire obstacle during the scenario. Soldiers across the Commando brigade have spent months progressing from individual tasks through Expert Infantryman Badge testing, to collective mission essential tasks during team, squad and platoon level training. Company and battalion live fires will follow in the coming months, and ultimately build toward brigade level certification at the Joint Readiness Training Center.
