Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Flowering rush is an aggressive, non-native aquatic weed which has invaded many lakes, rivers and reservoirs in the Pacific Northwest, Midwest and Great Lakes regions. Of particular concern in the Columbia River Basin, is the impact of flowering rush on spawning habitat for native salmonid species. USACE’s Aquatic Plant Control Research Program is taking a unique approach to overcome this challenge. It represents a collaboration between ERDC’s Environmental Laboratory, USACE Walla Walla and Omaha Districts, USDA-ARS, and industry partners.
