Allies Spirit

US Army Europe Best Warrior Logo

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Endangered Sea Turtles “Fly” South to the Sunshine State
U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area
Dec. 7, 2012 | 2:24
B-roll of an Elizabeth City, N.C.-based C-130J fixed wing aircraft, deployed for a wildlife rescue mission, picking up 35 endangered turtles from Cape Cod, Mass. and flying the reptiles safely to Orlando, Fla., Dec. 7, 2012. A record number of turtle “cold strandings” in the Northeast coast prompted the emergency flight. The Coast Guard works with federal and state partners in times of need such as when animals are stranded or entangled. This joint effort involved close coordination with the following organizations and agencies: NOAA Fisheries Northeast Region Stranding Network, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, New England Aquarium, Sea World Orlando, Mote Marine Lab, Volusia Marine Science Center, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, and the Florida Aquarium.
