Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

Feb. 5, 2020 | 0:46
Members of Iraqi Special Forces, Qwat al-Khasah al-Iraqi, practice advanced techniques on M-240B machine guns near Baghdad, Iraq, Feb. 2020. The threat of Daesh attacks remains – and the Iraqi Security Forces continue to aggressively pursue these remnants where they are hiding – such as sleeper cells, caches, temporary camps, finances and key personnel. The Qwat al-Khasah is an elite fighting force that specializes in raids, seizing, clearing and holding terrain for limited durations and conducting reconnaissance, counter-insurgency or counter terrorism operations.
