Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.
 
Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Jordan Chavez, a squad leader for Bridge Platoon, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, speaks about the purpose of building an Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) at Naha Military Port, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 20, 2020. IRBs provide a wet-gap crossing capability either as a floating bridge or as a multi-bay for tracked and wheeled combat tactical vehicles. Chavez, a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota, graduated from Como Park Senior High in 2015. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
