Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

The U.S. Army is looking for driven and competent officers to become Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) officers or Functional Area 52 officers.

To become a FA52, qualified officers must first attend and pass a qualification course at U.S. Army Nuclear CWMD Agency (USANCA) in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

The director of USANCA, Col. Colin P. Nikkila, describes the type of officers who make ideal candidates to become the next generation of frontline warriors in the CWMD mission.
