Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

A well oiled engine is a system that operates properly. All of its moving parts continue to work with little complications. Sgt. Julie Jaeger tells us about an Airman who operates in this same manner and finds great satisfaction in doing so. Maintainers us a machine called a certifier to test all the internal components of an external tank. The certifier draws fuel from a nearby larger tank, which holds roughly 600 gallons of gas, into the tank by force of air, and then the gas flows back into the larger tank. Soundbites from Tech Sgt. Marcus Trawick. Produced by Sgt. Julie Jaeger.
