Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.
 
Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

U.S. Marines with Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct Exercise Dark Horse at the Jungle Warfare Training Center in Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 18, 2021. Exercise Dark Horse was a battalion wide field exercise that incorporated Expeditionary Advanced Base Operation concepts for potential enemy maritime forces. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
