Allies Spirit

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army exercise for multinational partners, conducted at 7th Army Training Command training areas at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels, Germany.

Unlike other USAREUR-AF exercises, which feature U.S. brigade combat teams in a lead role augmented by Allies and partners, Allied Spirit places an Allied unit as the main training audience. While U.S.-led, this exercise will develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.

DON IT Conference Kick-Off
Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (DON CIO)
Nov. 4, 2020 | 3:17
Usually held in the fleet concentration of Norfolk, Virginia, the Department of the Navy IT East Coast Conference was held Nov. 4 & 5 via Microsoft CVR Teams due to pandemic requirements. It marked the first time that the DON IT Conference was held virtually. The change in format, however, did not dampen the enthusiasm of presenters or participants.

The opening kick-off featured remarks from the Department of the Navy Chief Information Aaron Weis, with the Chiefs of the four directorates under the DON CIO:: Jane Rathbun, DON Chief Technology Officer and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy Information Warfare and Enterprise Services; Tom Sasala, DON Chief Data Officer; Mike Galbraith, DON Chief Digital Innovation Officer; and Christopher Cleary, DON Information Security Officer.

The online event hosted up to 1,500 virtual attendees and proved an effective venue for DON IT leadership and subject matter experts to share the status of IT initiatives across the department and the ongoing transformational efforts to advance the DON Information Superiority Vision.
