AGILE SPIRIT is a EUCOM scheduled, USAREUR-AF directed and led regional joint field training and command post exercise co-led by participating host nations that strengthens regional security cooperation, builds military capacity, integrates innovations, and fosters interoperability in NATO and with participating partners.

The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 3, is accompanied by Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 21 and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9.
