From July 29th to August 1st, U.S. Senior National Representatives and Senior Army Leaders from around the European theater gathered for the Senior Army Leaders Meeting XXIII at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. This event improved situational understanding between various leaders as they coordinated goals and operational plans for the coming year. It also facilitated face-to-face interactions and relationship building among geographically separated leaders, addressing issues and opportunities to improve warfighter support for soldiers and families.

Col John Shermer, the senior national representative at the NATO Rapid Deployment Corps Italy, discussed the Allied Reaction Forces, a high readiness force designed to respond to contingencies across the Alliance.
