About African Lion

African Lion 25 is U.S. Africa Command's largest, premier, annual exercise, hosted across Morocco, Ghana, Senegal and Tunisia. This joint, all-domain, multi-component, and multinational exercise includes more than 10,000 participants from more than twenty nations, including contingents from NATO. African Lion aims to strengthen interoperability among participants and build readiness to respond to crises and contingencies in Africa and around the world.

The exercise will include a command post exercise, field training exercises, a live-fire demonstration, and humanitarian civic assistance program events. Additionally, humanitarian civic assistance missions will feature a combination of medical, dental and veterinary assistance and exchanges across Morocco, Ghana and Senegal.

EMF-M Baton Rouge
Defense Department Support to FEMA COVID-19
April 30, 2020 | 1:31
Medical professionals with Expeditionary Medical Facility-M, explain their mission and purpose at Baton Rouge General Mid City campus April 27, 2020. The 100 EMF-M personnel, part of the Department of Defense COVID-19 response, staff two 30-bed COVID wards and work together with ICU staff. EMF-M coordinates closely with state, local, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of their personnel and the local population. The military personnel are not intended to replace existing staff or take the roles that could be filled by team members who might be reassigned from low volume areas. They work to ease the strain of the significant patient care surge as part of the BRG Mid City family. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, is providing military support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help communities in need. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Daniel R.
