About African Lion

African Lion 25 is U.S. Africa Command's largest, premier, annual exercise, hosted across Morocco, Ghana, Senegal and Tunisia. This joint, all-domain, multi-component, and multinational exercise includes more than 10,000 participants from more than twenty nations, including contingents from NATO. African Lion aims to strengthen interoperability among participants and build readiness to respond to crises and contingencies in Africa and around the world.

The exercise will include a command post exercise, field training exercises, a live-fire demonstration, and humanitarian civic assistance program events. Additionally, humanitarian civic assistance missions will feature a combination of medical, dental and veterinary assistance and exchanges across Morocco, Ghana and Senegal.

1st Armored Division Artillery Best Redleg Competition 2024 - Day 1

Soldiers from artillery units across the installation compete during Day 1 of the 1st Armored Division Artillery's Best Redleg Competition held at Fort Bliss, Texas, April 2, 2024. The six-day competition consists of each team going head-to-head in a series of physically demanding and mentally challenging events testing Field Artillery fundamentals, and the exchange of best practices through healthy competition and rivalry. Day 1 events included the Army Physical Fitness Test, and the Artillery Skill Proficiency Test.

The winning team will be named the 1st Armored Division's Best Redleg Team and will represent the 1st Armored Division "Old Ironsides" during the inaugural General Raymond T. Odierno Best Redleg Competition, happening at Fort Sill, Okla., the ancestral home of Field Artillery in May 2024.
