About African Lion

African Lion 25 is U.S. Africa Command's largest, premier, annual exercise, hosted across Morocco, Ghana, Senegal and Tunisia. This joint, all-domain, multi-component, and multinational exercise includes more than 10,000 participants from more than twenty nations, including contingents from NATO. African Lion aims to strengthen interoperability among participants and build readiness to respond to crises and contingencies in Africa and around the world.

The exercise will include a command post exercise, field training exercises, a live-fire demonstration, and humanitarian civic assistance program events. Additionally, humanitarian civic assistance missions will feature a combination of medical, dental and veterinary assistance and exchanges across Morocco, Ghana and Senegal.

Stepped Care Model for Pain Management

The DHA Pain strategy incorporates the Stepped Care Model of Pain Management developed by the Veterans Health Administration. The Stepped Care Model provides a roadmap to providing appropriate level and intensity of pain management and effective treatment to patients with acute and chronic pain. This video provides an explanation of the Stepped Care Model for Pain Management and its use in the DoD and VHA.

This video was developed by The Defense and Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM) under the auspices of the DoD/VA Joint Pain Education Program (JPEP); a project conducted by the DoD/VA Health Executive Committee (HEC) Pain Management Work Group. Content also approved by DHA Pain Management Clinical Support Service (PMCSS) in support of DHA Opioid Prescriber Safety Training (OPST).
