April 18, 2025 | 0:29
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Magen Reeves, broadcaster at American Forces Network, provides a voiceover for the resumption ceremony of the Japan-U.S. Joint Community Safety Patrol held in Okinawa City, Okinawa, Japan, April 18, 2025. Service members gathered for the occasion to usher in joint patrols, which are a long-established provision to advance U.S. and Japan shared interests in maintaining order and discipline among Status of Forces Agreement personnel. The event had multiple speakers from local authorities and agencies, as well as U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Brian Wolford, the acting Okinawa Area Coordinator, who said the resumption of the joint patrols represents unwavering commitment to partnership, accountability, and mutual respect.
