80th Anniversary of D-Day Ceremony at Normandy American Cemetery
U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa
June 6, 2024 | 29:26
President Joe Biden, President Emmanuel Macron of France, service members, dignitaries, and citizens from around the world gather at the Normandy American Cemetery to honor the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France, June 6, 2024. On D-Day, the largest amphibious operation in history, U.S. and Allied forces assaulted the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of France from Nazi rule. At the center of the ceremony were veterans of WWII, many of whom took part in the fighting on D-Day 80 years ago. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Jacob Richardson)
