U.S. Marines with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and Merchant Mariners onload aviation support equipment onto Military Sealift Command Wright-class aviation logistics support ship SS Curtiss (T-AVB 4) on Naval Base San Diego, California, March 13, 2023. The Curtiss will function as an aviation logistics and sustainment platform to support aviation combat elements, demonstrate and validate expeditionary advanced basing operations and experiment with T-AVB capabilities during Exercise Immortal Warrior. Immortal Warrior is an exercise led by MALS-16, 3rd MAW and MALS-24, 1st MAW to demonstrate the opportune lift, forward depot-level aviation maintenance, and battle-damage repair capabilities that the T-AVB provides Marine aviation.
