Partner nations participate in small arms weapons exchange during Platinum Lion 22

U.S., Bulgarian and British soldiers learn how to use each other’s respective weapons systems during a weapons exchange—a familiarization and cross-training of each nations’ weapons—at Exercise Platinum Lion 22 at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, July 26, 2022. Each soldier had an opportunity to fire the U.S. Army M4A1 assault rifle, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, and M240L machine gun; the British Army L85A3 assault rifle and L7A1 general purpose machine gun; and the Bulgarian Land Forces AK-47 assault rifle, PKM machine gun, and MGS90 sniper rifle. Exercise Platinum Lion is a Bulgarian-hosted multinational exercise designed to improve operational and tactical interoperability among participating partner nations.
