USS Meyerkord (FF-1058) name board hanging in museum gallery
Hampton Roads Naval Museum
Oct. 4, 2019 | 0:15
B-roll footage without sound of staff members with the Hampton Roads Naval Museum hanging a name board from the Knox-Class Frigate USS Meyerkord (FF-1058) in their gallery. The frigate bears the namesake of Navy Cross recipient Lieutenant Harold Dale Meyerkord, who perished in South Vietnam on March 16, 1965. The name board, and over 130 artifacts are part of a new immersive exhibit, “The Ten Thousand-Day War at Sea: The U.S. Navy in Vietnam, 1950-1975,” which is set to open on October 9, 2019 at 10am. (US Navy Video by Max Lonzanida/Released).
