Arkansas National Guardsmen from 1st Battalion, 206th Field Artillery Regiment, 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team conduct live fire training exercises with the M119A3 howitzer at the Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center near Barling, Arkansas, on 25 July, 2018.
The M119A3 howitzer is a is a lightweight, direct and indirect fire support asset used by infantry brigade combat teams. It is a modernized version of the L119 howitzer with a digital fire control system, and an inertial navigation system for self location. The M119A3 is capable of firing all standard NATO semi-fixed ammunition as well as special rocket-assisted 105mm projectiles.
