The crew aboard the USNS Grasp (T-ARS-51) and Sailors assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 2 participate in a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the USS San Diego (ACR 6). Believed to be caused by a German mine or torpedo, the armored cruiser sank in 28 minutes with the loss of six lives. The ceremony was organized by the Naval History and Heritage Command, which is responsible for the preservation, analysis, and dissemination of U.S. Naval history and heritage.
