142nd Medical Group participates in "Combat Lifesaver" Tactical Combat Casualty Care course
142nd Wing
April 13, 2023 | 1:20
During April, Airmen from the 142nd Medical Group participated in a Tier 2 Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) course on Portland Air National Guard Base. The Tier 2 “Combat Lifesaver” course is a more in-depth version of the traditional, or Tier 1, TCCC course most Service Members take, and tasks Airmen with rendering aid and carrying participants to safety in a dynamic environment meant to simulate an evolving battlefield scenario.
TCCC was developed by the U.S. Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency Joint Trauma System to teach evidence-based, life-saving techniques and strategies for providing the best trauma care on the battlefield.
