C-17 Globemaster delivers support equipment to JMSDF Kanoya Air BAse

KANOYA, Japan (Oct. 24, 2022) A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft arrived at Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Kanoya Air Base delivering 18 pallets of support equipment for the MQ-9 remotely piloted aircraft to allow mechanics from the 319th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron to begin building the aircraft, Oct. 24, 2022. U.S. Pacific Air Forces is deploying MQ-9s, a medium-altitude, long-endurance remotely piloted aircraft, and personnel to Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Kanoya Air Base to conduct airborne reconnaissance operations in close coordination with the Japan Ministry of Defense in furtherance of the U.S. – Japan Treaty and to ensure a free-and-open Indo-Pacific (U.S. Navy video by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Jack D.
