Combat engineers assigned to RES/278th ACR use a Buffalo; a mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle, to conduct route clearance training at Fort Hood, TX. The Buffalo a six-wheeled, blast-resistant armored machine, uses a 30-foot remote controlled robotic arm tipped with pitchfork-like fingers and a camera to inspect and remove explosive threats.
