Interview with Norwegian Ambassador Kare Aas
II Marine Expeditionary Force
April 24, 2019 | 7:02
U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and U.S. Marine Corps Air Station New River welcomed Norwegian Ambassador Kåre R. Aas, Norwegian Army Lt. Col. Per-Erik Bjøernstadbråten, Norwegian Defense Attaché Rear Adm. Ole M. Sandquist, and Norwegian Military Attaché and Assistant Defense Attaché Col. Magne Rodahl during their visit to the base and its air wing. U.S. Marines have been forward deployed on a rotational basis to Norway, strengthening the bonds by working hand-in-hand with the Norwegian military. By doing so, the two nations build on interoperability with not only Norwegian allies, but with partners across Europe. Ambassador Aas discusses the importance of interoperability and cooperation between Marines and Norwegian forces. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Heather Atherton)
