Soldiers returning from the Vietnam War often found themselves suffering from what we know today as Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). Little was known about the cause and effect of war and there was a fear of stigma for those who sought help. DoD News recently had a chance to visit the Bay Pines VA Health Center in Florida, where residents take part in a program designed to address trauma symptoms and provide coping skills and understand.
