International Day of Mine Awareness in Kosovo 2017

ORAHOVAC, Kosovo – KFOR marked the International Day of Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, together with the international community and Multinational Battle Group - East. In Kosovo, this day represents the start of the Humanitarian Demining season.
The Mine Action Centre from Kosovo Security Force, with KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) assets in support, marked the event with a disposal activity.
KFOR EOD, Kosovo Police Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD), KSF EOD, Halo Trust and Norwegian People's Aid conducted a joint demo operation in Rahovec/Orahovac to dispose 35 types of UXOs found in Kosovo.
Through such activities, KFOR continues to preserve a safe and secure environment and ensure freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo.
