Chaplain of Honor (Short Version)
21st Theater Sustainment Command
April 12, 2013 | 1:43
Self-less service is one trait of a hero. Chaplians from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command along with Chaplains from the U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern honored the memory and heroism of Chaplain Emil Kapaun in Catholic Mass at Kapaun Air Base in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Many see Chaplain Kapaun as a man who embodied not only the army values but the true meaning of the phrase “God and country”. President Barack Obama posthumously awarded the medal of honor to Captain Kapuanan placed his name in the Distinguished Hall Of Heroes for his actions in the Korean War on November first and November second, nineteen fifty. Army Lueteinient Colonel Matt Pawlikoski, a chaplain from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, explains to us why Chaplain Kapaun is his hero.
