12th CAB conducts MEDEVAC exercises during Aerial Gunnery.
12th Combat Aviation Brigade
July 24, 2020 | 0:58
Soldiers assigned to Charlie Company, 1-3rd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, are participating in a MEDEVAC exercise at Grafenwöhr Training Area, Germany, July 18, 2020. All crew members are utilized to ensure mission success - the pilots maintain precise hovering position up to 300 feet above the ground, the crew chief operates the hoist and calls out drift to the pilots. The medic is hoisted to do patient assessment and signal to the crew chief when the patient is secured and ready to be lifted to the aircraft. Patients that require hoist can be litter or ambulatory. If the patient is litter it requires the use of the SKEDCO litter and tag line to keep the patient from uncontrolled movement. (U.S. Army video by Spc. Hunter Garcia)
