National Airborne Day
173rd Airborne Brigade
Aug. 7, 2019 | 1:02
This is a motivational video highlighting 1st Squadron (Airborne), 91st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd HHC Head Hunters, the Bundeswehr and many other Airborne units. It's purpose is to instill pride and inform those that don't know about National Airborne Day. This is our way of thanking all of our Sky Soldiers and paratroopers across the military for their service and unwavering dedication to jump in defense of our Nation wherever directed. August 16, 1940, marks the date of the first official Army parachute jump at Ft. Benning, Georgia. The successful jump validated the innovative concept of inserting United States ground combat forces behind a battle line by parachute. These sky soldiers represent some of the most prestigious and effectively trained forces in the United States Army.
