USAREUR-AF International Tank Challenge

U.S. Army Europe and Africa, along with our NATO and Partner Allies, annually host a Tank Challenge. This training event is designed to give participating nations a dynamic and productive environment in which to foster military partnerships, form Soldier-level relationships, and share tactics, techniques and procedures.

The European International Tank Challenge was formerly known as the Strong Europe Tank Challenge. Images, video and stories that are older will appear under that name further down the timeline.

Seeding The Future: Artium Technologies, Inc.

With support from the Air Force Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer Program, Artium Technologies in Sunnyvale, California, developed a laser-induced measurement instrument particles that exist in aircraft engine exhaust. The technology is currently being sold to diesel and jet engine manufacturers who have an interest in measuring exhaust products of their various engines.

Although this was Artium’s first Air Force SBIR project, the small business has benefited from SBIR contracts with NASA, which lead to the development of LAI technology. According to Artium, the Air Force SBIR program has allowed the business to develop the technology even further, which makes them much more competitive.
