US Army Europe Best Warrior Logo

U.S. Army Europe and Africa, along with our NATO and Partner Allies, annually host a Tank Challenge. This training event is designed to give participating nations a dynamic and productive environment in which to foster military partnerships, form Soldier-level relationships, and share tactics, techniques and procedures.

The European International Tank Challenge was formerly known as the Strong Europe Tank Challenge. Images, video and stories that are older will appear under that name further down the timeline.

2020 Olympian & Fort Moore Soldier Seeks Second Olympic Berth
U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit
March 17, 2024 | 3:30
2020 Olympian, U.S. Army Sgt. Sagen Maddalena, competes at the USA Shooting Smallbore Olympic Trials - Part 3 at Fort Moore, Georgia March 17-19. The Groveland, California native is seeking a spot on Team USA for the 50m Smallbore, or Three-Position Rifle, event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Maddalena, who is a marksmanship instructor/competitive shooter with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit International Rifle Team, is already qualified to compete in Paris in the Women's 10m Air Rifle event. If she qualifies in Smallbore, she will represent the Nation in two events. This Fort Moore Soldier competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 50m Smallbore, where she placed 5th. So the 2024 Olympics will be Maddalena's second Olympics as a Soldier.
