U.S. Army Europe and Africa, along with our NATO and Partner Allies, annually host a Tank Challenge. This training event is designed to give participating nations a dynamic and productive environment in which to foster military partnerships, form Soldier-level relationships, and share tactics, techniques and procedures.

The European International Tank Challenge was formerly known as the Strong Europe Tank Challenge. Images, video and stories that are older will appear under that name further down the timeline.

U.S. and Japan service members participated in a combat search and rescue training during Keen Sword 2019 near Misawa Air Base, Japan, Oct. 31, 2018. KS19 is designed to enhance Japan-U.S. combat readiness and interoperability while strengthening bilateral relationships and demonstrating U.S. resolve to support the security interests of allies and partners in the region. Units from the U.S. military conducted training with their Japan Self-Defense Force counterparts at military installations throughout Japan, the Mariana Islands and in the surrounding waters. All participating units trained in a comprehensive scenario designed to exercise the critical capabilities required to support the defense of Japan and to respond to a crisis or contingency in the Indo-Pacific region.
