U.S. Army Europe and Africa, along with our NATO and Partner Allies, annually host a Tank Challenge. This training event is designed to give participating nations a dynamic and productive environment in which to foster military partnerships, form Soldier-level relationships, and share tactics, techniques and procedures.

The European International Tank Challenge was formerly known as the Strong Europe Tank Challenge. Images, video and stories that are older will appear under that name further down the timeline.

U.S. service members with Joint Task Force - Leeward Islands receive awards in recognition of the hard work they accomplished in support of hurricane relief operations in the Caribbean during an award ceremony at Aimé Césaire International Airport in Fort-de-France, Martinique, Oct. 8, 2017. Over the course of a month, JTF - LI helped the U.S. Agency for International Devlopment deliver over 75 metric tons of relief commodities to those impacted by hurricanes Irma and Maria. At the request of USAID and the Department of State, JTF-LI deployed aircraft and service members to assist in delivering relief supplies and evacuating U.S. citizens from areas affected by the two hurricanes. The task force is a U.S. military unit composed of Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen, and represents U.S. Southern Command’s primary response to the hurricanes that have affected the eastern Caribbean.
