First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark A. Milley laid a wreath and attended the Pentagon Observance Ceremony honoring the 184 lives lost during the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon in 2001 at the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, Arlington, Virginia, September 11, 2023. Service members and families of the fallen were also in attendance.
