General John F. Kelly, the commanding general of United States Southern Command, delivers a speech during the 5th Marine Regiment Operation Enduring Freedom Memorial Dedication ceremony at the Camp San Mateo Memorial Garden here, June 6. The regiment dedicated the 7-ton, granite memorial to those who fought and died serving with a 5th Marines battalion or under Regimental Combat Team 5. General Kelly’s son, 1st Lt. Robert Michael Kelly, was killed in action in Sangin, Afghanistan, on Nov. 9, 2010. His name is etched into the wall along with the rest of the Marines and sailors who died serving with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, in Afghanistan. Available in High Definition.
